Welcome to Fallyn's Dad's blog telling her story and about her progress. As of now, Fallyn has started treatment... the countdown to Day "0" (bone marrow transplant day) has finished and Fallyn is now in the +'s (days after the transplant).  Thank you all for your continued support and prayers.

Day +94 (9/24) Goin' home soon...

Fallyn’s 100 day biopsies are scheduled for October 6. I have not yet been provided the time. I purchased airline tickets for our return to Pittsburgh on the evening of Thursday October 8. Aunt Janet has offered to fly out here and help me on the return trip. I anticipate having her 6 month check-up scheduled prior to our departure. I should be able so schedule it during the Christmas break. All of Fallyn’s lab work is staying stable within the desired parameters with a few minor exceptions...

Day +85 (9/15) Overall Standing is Excellent

We consulted with Dr. Wagner today and gained information about Fallyn’s progress and program status. The best news we received is that her overall standing is excellent. A follow up test for the C-Diff came back negative. Because of that problem her zinc and protein levels had nosedived but are trending up. An additional workup to further monitor this will be done on Monday...

Day +73 (9/3) Rapid healing...

When she is able to leave the wound beds alone they heal very rapidly. The larger wounds she suffers continue to heal faster than they did previously. The smaller ones heal in an unprecedented fashion. The roofs of the blisters lie down and reattach within a day or two. Those areas then fade to a reddish patch in a few days. The transplant has been successful. Her quality of life has improved and I am confident there is further improvement to be experienced...

Day +67 (8/28) Percentage progress

Some of this from her lab report I could follow, the majority of the reported categories meant nothing to me even after it was explained. I do not have the background information to ‘read’ the report and comprehend the sub set component categories. Suffice to say in the 1st category, Fallyn stayed at 100% of Jennifer’s cells. In the 2nd she went from 79% to 84%, Jennifer’s cells are taking over...

Day +64 (8/25) Itchy Monster is all but vanquished...

I continue to be elated by the condition of the wound at her stoma site. It now looks as though the site were a 3 to 4 week old wound near the ‘final’ stages of healing, bright pink healthy looking tissue. This is truly the process we are hoping will continue to manifest. I am confident that the results from Fridays’ collection and the Molecular Diagnostic Test report still pending will support what I know to be happening. Her body is responding to the BMT and the Collagen Seven Fibrils are growing both stronger and more numerous. The wound beds on her legs are in great shape too. They are showing improvement like I have not seen previously. The Itchy Monster is all but vanquished and I can see the results. She does continue to scrape her hands and forearms though and they look it...
